The watersport liability insurance (also boat insurance) is a liability insurance covering personal injury, damage to property and property resulting from the operation of water sports equipment such as boats.
There are three variants:
- Statutory Compulsory Liability
- Partially Comprehensive
- Comprehensive
You should know that your regular personal liability insurance does not cover any damage caused by the use of your own water sports equipment. Usually, only damage caused by paddle, rowing and pedal boats is covered.
However, the insurance coverage does not only refer to the keeper but also extends to all those persons who are authorized or responsible for the operation of the vehicle.
Please also note that a boat insurance is compulsory in Spain. In addition to your boat license, you must also carry proof of insurance on board.
